Hello and welcome, I am Louise Jarvis, you know the one that does the drawing. I am also the one that cuts mounts, frames pictures, does the accounts and paperwork, makes the tea, does the post office run and also washes the dishes. What I am saying really is I am the one that runs the whole shebang! Work aside I am also a mum to four little boys :)
I have been drawing animal portraits full time for 4 years this November. To begin with it was to save up to buy a horse but as I really only managed in the beginning to save up enough to buy one hoof, work started to take off slowly to begin with. First of all I started doing commissions for local people with local pets, then via word of mouth it started to expand into the dog showing world where it gathered momentum and like a fish out of water I started to become overwhelmed by the lack of breathing space between commissions. One after another they came in which led me to believe I could have probably bought that horse in full in a short time after all. Ironically my creativity meant I did not have time for a second cup of tea in the morning far less the time to own my own horse! Bound to now paint other people's horses and dogs I couldn't be happier (Or cleaner and less muddy for that matter!)
This machine I have created now fuels us, which is not something I hear very often. My work is very varied and exciting and being one to not just sit back and relax, I am very pro-active. My passion is getting out there and discovering not only the corners of the animal world which I love to enjoy but how I can make my business grow and expand and my drawing and painting skills develop on a daily basis. I remember the first thing I could draw as a child being a horse, the dream that one day that horse on paper would manifest into the real thing and me owning it surpassed ironically into me drawing other people's horses and marveling in their beauty and splendor from afar. One day I may possibly own that black beauty I dreamt of but for now I am more than happy creating beautiful art and enjoying being able to walk without sore legs ;)
I hope you enjoy my website and please contact me if you would like to commission a portrait of your beloved pet.
